April 25, 2025
Camryn & Hutch’s wedding day at Knotting Hills was nothing short of magical, and their photos show it. Located in Pevely, Missouri & only about 45 minutes from St. Louis, this venue was a little slice of heaven. But how did we get here?
Last year, I did something crazy. Well, crazy to some people but to me, I wanted to give back. I posted last year saying I was giving away 1 FREE package for wedding photography to one lucky couple getting married in 2025. All they had to do, was fill out a survey, and we got in contact. I’m sure a ton of people thought I was not a real business or just a bad photographer. (Well, I could not be your style of photographer. But, I definitely have insurance, an LLC, & a legit tax paying business haha.)
I wanted to give this GIANT gift to someone who truly needed it. They just graduated from college, or just bought a house. They could be continuing their education and are in grad school. Etc… Everyone I had talked to made it to be one of the hardest decisions I had to make. I wish I could have given everyone a free wedding photography session, but it just was not possible.
In my list and during my calls, Camryn’s name popped up, and I could have SWORN I knew her somewhere. We had our call. I am pretty sure we talked for 45 minutes. I only blocked off 15 minutes to chat! We instantly clicked and then that is when we realized that we knew each other from our former high school. We didn’t go the same years. Yet, I was a marching band/color guard coach during her time as a student at St. Charles West. This connection even continued into her days of coaching women’s basketball! Hutch also went to the school at the same time, which, leads me to their love story!
In her survey, her first sentence about her and Hutch’s love story was: “Our love story, in my eyes, is one for the story books.” And it was! After COVID started and shut down the world, Cam started to coach women’s basketball. Lo and behold, there was “a new boys coach, whose pretty cute”. (Her words! Lol!) The coaches would not leave either of them alone and said they needed to go out right away. Finally, he asked her to get coffee. That is when they found out that Hutch ALSO went to St. Charles West, he just was not in her grade. Their paths crossed numerous times and all these years later, it was time for them to connect again. Over time, they moved to Atlanta, GA together. He proposed on the beach in front of her whole family. They knew in their hearts they wanted to get married back in St. Louis. She ended her story with: “What’s so fun about this story, is that it’s just the beginning, and we’re even more excited to continue to write our chapters!”
I got off the phone with Cam (after our 45-minute conversation about wedding plans, life, their puppy…) & I knew immediately that God was telling me to gift this to them. Waiting to tell them was hard enough, lol!
We then had so much fun with their engagement session. They came up from Atlanta for a family wedding and the weather was PERFECT for their session. I found out that Hutch was also in love with videography and photography, and that is what led them to Georgia! So we of course nerd-ed out over my new gear that I had just gotten a few weeks prior! We spent the time laughing, talking about our love for Disney, photography, you name it!
Their wedding day came, and there was not a dry eye in that crowd. I was even tearing up quite a few times. I was so thankful I got to know each of their families (Cam’s Mama, Jen, is DEF the MVP!!!) They had such a unique touch to everything about her day. Cam wore her mom’s veil. Hutch and his mom danced to Sugarhill Gang’s Apache (Jump On It). They had the sweetest private vows that left us all in tears. Their first dance was to High School Musical’s “Can I Have This Dance.” Heck, they even had socks that held hands at the ankles!! (make sure to scroll to the bottom for those photos!) It’s been almost two months and I still think about their wedding day often.
So, all I got to say is… Please move back to Missouri so we can hang out, LOL. Be sure to check back later on the blog to see their engagement photos as well!
A ladybug came into the dressing room with us as mom and her sister were zipping up the dress. They were sending us special good luck!!
This little moment with seeing her grandparents made me tear up!
One of his groomsmen (who quickly became my own right-hand man), recorded the vows on his phone and even helped Hutch turn the pages so he didn’t have to let go of Cam’s hand!
We of course had to get a selfie together before the end of the night ❤
Thank you guys again so much for trusting me with one of the most important days of your lives!!
